Sunset View Elementary
Technology Goals Matrix
2004-2005
Sunset View Elementary has used San Diego City Schools’ Technology
Foundations: K–12 Knowledge and Skills Matrix to identify the technology
goals for our students K-4. While this matrix identifies 18 foundational technology
areas and their encompassing skills used in K–12 education, our document
reflects foundations for only grades kindergarten through fourth grade. It
mirrors the National
Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS), which are attached. Each knowledge and skill foundation
supports one or more of the national standards.
Instructional Key
The knowledge and skills content within each area is presented in activities
across the K–12 curriculum with a teaching level of instruction key:
A= Awareness Level The
student is exposed to the technology as it is being used by others.
G= Guided Level The student begins to use the technology with the
help of others.
I= Independent Level The student uses the technology without
assistance.
M= Mastery The student is competent in using the technology and
is able to teach others.
O= Optional Skill is viewed as Optional within the curriculum.
