About
Silver Gate's
unique "Eco Lab" was created to provide hands-on, standards
based science curriculum. It was founded on the idea that children
hold the future for our environment and the more they are educated, the
more respectful they will be towards our earth.
The curriculum
was established to follow the children K through 6th (now 4th) through
their years at Silver Gate with topics including Geology, Oceans, Deserts,
Forests, and Rainforests. On a weekly basis, each class rotates
through the Lab and experiences one hour of literature, hands-on
experiments, art, crafts and/or current events that focus on the
environmental science issues for the year. Our students will have
the knowledge and preparation needed to become conscientious and informed
members of our planet.
Special
thanks goes to Jeremy & Michelle Young and Aquari-Lease
for providing ongoing maintenance for the aquarium tanks in the Eco Lab at
no cost to the school

find there.
Animals! Right now we two iguanas,
Iggy and Baby.
Two 60-gallon fish tanks. We have both
fresh and salt water tanks.
Macro-scopes used to project and
magnify small objects. Great for in class demonstrations.
