It’s hard to believe we have reached the last month of the 06-07 school year.  The year proved to be one of our best because of the “above and beyond” efforts of the staff and community.  I want to take this moment to thank the staff for having the passion to provide the most meaningful and productive learning environment for the students of Sandburg.  The success of the year is due to teamwork and consistent collaboration with raising student achievement and solving site issues.  Sandburg continues to be a safe, nurturing, and caring community of learners because of you!  I’d also like to thank the parents and guardians of our students for their support and enthusiasm in making a difference here at the school.  The support you offer your children at home is essential in their progress towards becoming scholars and leaders.  Your tireless effort and commitment to making the campus look beautiful is tremendously appreciated.  It truly does take “family unity” to achieve our goals and objectives.  A heartfelt thank you to all of you – our Sandburg Family!

I hope you have had the opportunity to participate in the end of year activities.  This is a great time of year for celebrations!  I am exceptionally proud of our 5^th graders who will be promoting on Tuesday, June 19.  I know they will continue to be San Diego’s finest!

Have a fabulous summer and please remember to be careful in the sun.  Remember to put on the sun screen, wear protective clothing and hats if you and your children plan to be in the sun for an extended period of time.  Be safe, stay healthy and enjoy the summer with family and friends.  School resumes on Tuesday, September 4 at 7:45 am – we look forward to working with you again in the 07-08 school year.
