In response to the recent disasters in the U.S. and around the
world,
the County of San Diego Office of Emergency Services
is
promoting its Family Disaster Plan and Personal Survival Guide.
The Family Disaster Plan encourages preparedness and
self-reliance in the event that a major disaster should occur in
Southern California. The guide provides simple, potentially
life-saving information and is available in English and Spanish.
The plan can be found online at
http://www.sdcounty.ca.gov/oes/community/families/.
In addition, the Office of Emergency Services is working in
collaboration with
Team Safe-T
which, together with the
American
Red Cross,
has created an entire emergency preparedness
curriculum for grades K-12. The integrated lesson plans,
discussion topics, activities and take home materials are
available at no cost to all California schools and can be found
at
Team Safe-T
website.
