A tropical rain forest is not a jungle, but the jungles are located on the edges of the tropical rain forest. Around 200in. of rain fall anually in the tropical rain forest. All tropical rain forests are located near the equator. The largest tropical rain forests are located in the Amazon Basin of South America. Tropical rain forest are also located in the Congo Basin and other lowlands of Africa and the inlands of Asia.
The rain forests contain many trees. Most of them are flowering trees. Some plants, called epiphyts, depend on other plants for support. The branches and leaves of the trees form the canopy. The canopy is very thick and blocks most of the sun from reaching the forest floor. Many animals such as monkeys, snake, lizards, birds, and many cat related species roam the rain forest. There are also many insects and invertabrates in the rain forest.
Some of the differences between the enclosures and the rainforest are the size and inhabitants. The rainforests are a whole lot bigger and have millions of inhabitants. Also the bodies of water are larger in the rainforests than in the enclosures. People can not enter the komodo dragons enclosures but people can get into the rainforest.
