Bell and Dissmissal Times

AT 9:00 AM the "Get Ready Bell" rings. Teachers report to playground and children line up.They will be taken to class, which begins promptly at 9:05 A.M. with the second bell. Please have students arrive on time to start the day. If you child is late, they must go to the office to obtain a tardy slip before going to class.

If your child will be absent, please call the office before 8:30 AM. Office Hours are: 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM. Call: 858.496.8110.

Lunch and Recess: Students may bring a lunch or purchase one in the cafeteria. Lunches and milk may be paid for singularly or prepaid in quantity in the cafetria before school, online at PayPams or by calling: 1(888)994-5100.

Absences

Please call the school officeon the first morning of your child's absence. We need to know the child's name, teacher's name and specific reason for absence. It is especially important to report a communicable disease. This one call is most important as it eliminates the possibility of unreported accidents or delays en route to school and helps prevent truancy.

It is very important that your child attend school regularly with a minimum number of absences. However, sometimes unavoidable family circumstances require an absence for non-medical reasons. A 'Contract Independent Study' agreement is available for these instances. Contract Independent Study (CIS) If your child must be absent from school 5 days or more, parents are encouraged to contact their child's teacher and the school office a minimum of one week in advance of the absence to make arrangements for a short term independent study contract for the absence period. Academic assignments will be given to the student to complete during the absence. When the student returns and turns in the successfully completed assignments, s/he will be given credit for these days, for attendance purposes, and they will not be unexcused absences. Without the contract, the absence would be unexcused. A maximum of twenty days per school year is allowed.
